Yup, you read that right!
My long tresses has almost been part of my identity for the last 3 years and I’m ready for a change. I’ve wanted a smaller change for a while but my lovely (and stubborn) hairdresser Nadia has refused to cut my hair any more than a couple of cm when I’ve been to visit her, haha! She’s always said that she’s ready to cut more only if I’m doing a big change – SO HERE YOU GO NADIA!
I’m very fortunate to have fast growing good hair and rarely get split ends, but it’s come to the point where I can’t be asked to style it for 20 min and goodness, it’s just so warm having long hair? It’s like having a blanket over your back at all times.
I’m ready for a change, damn it!
My usual hairstyle nowadays:
You might think that this decision came to me easily but oh no. I’ve gone back and forth about this for a very long time and what ultimately made me decide was The Little Princess Trust.
The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs for free to children across the UK and Ireland that have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment or other illnesses. I spoke to one of my colleagues today who’s family member had just started chemo and he explained how the wig helps her cope during her treatment. It makes her feel more confident.
As I said, my hair grows quickly and I am very thankful for it, so cutting it for a wonderful cause like this is a no-brainer.
In addition to donating my hair I have also started a JustGiving page where you can donate money. A wig costs a lot of money to make so I thought it’d be a great addition to this little project!
