Casa Mosquito. I don’t even know where to begin!
When we arrived it was dark and me being the strong female I am let G and one of the guys who worked there carry our suitcases up all of the stairs below.
About the hotel. Casa Mosquito is a boutique hotel in Ipanema, Rio De Janeiro. It is a refurbished 1940’s home that the french owners, Benjamin and Louis opened in 2012. It has 9 rooms (suites..), a beautiful lounge area, outdoor seating, rooftop pool and bar.Guests can use the lounge and dining area and there is wifi throughout the hotel, a must for travellers (and bloggers)!Because it was dark when we arrived I didn’t take any pictures so excuse the “handmade” bed!Tada! Our beautiful suite left us speechless when we came in. It had a king size bed, desk, sofa, terrace with the most amazing view, bathtub and bathroom with the biggest shower I’ve ever seen.
The perfect selfie mirror! The bathroom was visible from the main room but could easily be covered with the many curtains.Nice arrangement with coffee table books.Loved that the bed was in the centre of the room. It’s my fave piece of furniture, haha. The view from the terrace was pretty insane. What you see to the left is the favelas, to the right was the beach. And this is from the entrance of our floor (3rd). Below is the original 1940’s house and we stayed in the added part.
And now my second fave place..The rooftop pool has to be the best one I’ve ever been to. Because the hotel is up on a hill, and on top of a building, you escape the hustle and bustle of the city streets. The view was as amazing as from our room, if not a little bit better, and the loungers super comfy.
The hotel is close to Ipanema beach, restaurants and markets. Benjamin, one of the owners, helped us with tours and recommendations and the few other people who worked there were super lovely too.
We absolutely loved staying at this beautiful (I think I’ve written beautiful 5 times) hotel and I would definitely stay here again if the opportunity presents itself. Pretty sure G agrees with me on that one.
Thank you Casa Mosquito and Baobá Communicação for a wonderful stay!
