Date night a Sakagura in Mayfair

07/08/2017

Last week I was invited to Sakagura to experience their new bbq menu with G. Sakagura is a japanese restaurant located in the cutest courtyard in Mayfair. Even though we were next to Regent Street it felt like we were abroad!
We were shown to our table and our lovely waitress explained the menu to both of us and I was very excited as I always am with food..

We chose three items each out of the below. I chose Japanese Wagyu Sirloin, Scallop and Eryngii Mushroom. G picked Short Rib, Chicken thigh and Sausage (such a man…).

We also ordered two lovely cocktails to sip on whilst we waited

Helloooo

Our food started coming in..

And this was the setup! Our main ingredients, miso soup, rice, salad and dipping sauces

We then got to grill the food ourselves over a super hot griddle!

I wasn’t too sure how long to grill it all but it was absolutely delicious, so I did something right! G even went as far as marinating his meat in the dipping sauces before grilling it, very clever.

For dessert we had a sake vanilla ice cream and soya sauce caramel ice cream. I definitely prefered the vanilla ice cream! Very refreshing.

Thank you Sakagura for a lovely dinner!

I’m not sure I’m keen on places that make you make your own food: what am I paying you for? I would be worried about undercooking meat. But it looks like you guys did a good job
