Wondering around West Village, lunchin’ at The Spotted Pig and shopping at Aritzia

22/09/2016

After a pretty long walk over the brooklyn bridge and what felt like the entire of manhattan we reached West Village – probably one of my favourite areas. Less skyscrapers, more independent shops and cute houses (think Sex and The City) and cafés.  Fire escapes everywhere – So New YorkWe ended up at The Spotted Pig for lunch, a restaurant co-owned by Jay Z!  We decided to go all in so ordered oysters (yum) and burgers (yum yum)  Super fresh…

Breakfast at Five Leaves and walking the iconic Brooklyn Bridge

18/09/2016

On Monday me and Katie met Tom, my good friend from London. Previously that morning I had googled breakfast places in Brooklyn and Five Leaves was one of the top ones. This type of interior is SO common throughout NYC but I quite like it. It’s charming and can’t be too hard to maintain, haha! We ordered avocado toast, toasted farro bowl and pancakes with ricotta – YUM!!!! One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had! Hi Tom! Hi Katie! Not a cloud in the sky!…

A surprisingly healthy dinner.. with wine.

18/09/2016

In the evening we decided to cook instead of eating out. We popped by Ariel’s local grocery store and got salads, pasta, chicken and wine.  After dinner we had a pretty random, wild night out. We went to a friends friend apartment for a pre-party, ended up at a club in Midtown called Noble and danced till 4am. This is the reason why I don’t have any, and I mean ANY, pictures from Sunday..…

I was incredibly blessed with extremely good weather in NYC, almost too good. It must’ve been over 32 degrees on saturday and we were spending it all outside (: We started at Smorgasburg in Brooklyn, a food market with nearly 100 vendors!   Whether you feel like asian, mexican or italian food – they have it all! Stopped at home frite cause it was meant to be a must! And oh boy is that a must?! DO YOU SEE THE SIZE OF IT?! Compare…

Dinner at Lil Frankies’, dessert at The Juicy Spot and cocktail at The Blind Barbers

18/09/2016

Oh what a perfect evening in NYC. Ariel took us to Lil Frankie’s, a affordable, cash only italian restaurant in East Village. It is a sibling to Franks, Sauce and Supper. We arrived and our waiter took us to our table in a dark lit, loud restaurant.  They serve pretty classic italian dishes. We ordered bruschetta, kale caesar salad and and a pizza to share.  Katie <3 Ariel <3 and me  The food was absolutely amazing and I can see why…

Juicin’ and walkin’ around Williamsburg

18/09/2016

Bedford avenue is a long street in Williamsburg with the prettiest shops and cafés. Me and Katie had no particular destination so we just wandered around. We felt like having a healthy drink so went to Juice Generation and had a juice each before checking out the shops. The weather was incredibly humid and hot so it was very much needed!  Life motto – Peace, love and juice! New fave jewelry shop – Catbird! The prettiest minimal jewelry, makeup and interior.…

Indian takeaway, naked exhibition and dive bar in Brooklyn

15/09/2016

On thursday evening we decided to have a casual evening and order takeaway from Ariel’s local indian. We ate, drank wine and had the most wonderful conversations about female empowerment and friendships. God I love dinners like these.  After we walked to Wythe Avenue and checked out Body of Work by Camila Falquez who exhibited the most stunning photographies  Then the ladies took me to my first dive bar – in short a bar with cheap drinks that outweighs the…

Obligatory tourist day

15/09/2016

After our lovely lunch we walked to Time Square. I’m not big on touristy things but for this particular trip I had a long-ass checklist of things I wanted to see and do, haha! Luckily Katie was happy to wander around the city and check things off with me 🙂  Me and my adorable friend Katie!  After Time Square we walked over to Bryant Park and relaxed our feet. After about an hour we were ushered away due to a…

The Grey Dog

13/09/2016

The Grey Dog was one of Katie’s go-to places for lunch when she lived here, so we payed them a visit for lunch. The size of every single portion I’ve had in NYC are incredible and I can never finish what I’ve ordered. We both ate grilled sandwiches – Katie ate one with apple, turkey and brie cheese whereas I ordered a chicken and mozzarella sandwich with a salad. The board behind Katie has a really cute story behind it.…
