Room service and goodbyes

04/10/2016

My last day in NYC was an even more emotional one than the night before. We both woke up slightly hungover and room service came to drop off our breakfast we had cleverly ordered whilst drunk. Eggs florentine and tater tots. After having breakfast and getting ready I met up with Daniel, a friend from London living in New York for lunch and when I came back I packed my things and got ready to say goodbye to Katie. Saying…

Our last dinner / Mezetto

02/10/2016

Oh god, I didn’t want this day to end. The day before I had to leave NYC and my beautiful amazingly loving friends. We decided to keep things local so walked – literally – across the road from Sixty Hotel to Mezetto, a mediterranean restaurant. There we opted for their set menu which included starter, main and dessert and to top it off we added bottomless Sangria!   Burrata, delicious Kofte Kebab Meatballs, delicious  Such a strong team! Crusted Chicken with sweet potato…

Jack’s Wife Freda

02/10/2016

Sandra (fave blogger) had been there, several of Katie’s friends had been there – we just had to try it out no matter how over hyped it might’ve been! I’m talking about Jack’s Wife Freda. On my last full day in NYC we walked through Lower East Side to Jack’s. We managed to get a table fairly quickly and decided to order things we normally wouldn’t. I spotted a pimm’s bottle so Katie ordered herself a pimm’s (it wasn’t as good as…

Liquor Bar Brunch and Broadway!

02/10/2016

After checking in to Sixty Hotel we had brunch at Schillers Liquor Bar nearby. I had a lovely salmon bagel and Katie had a classic avocado on toast. We were both very impressed by Lower East Side and its many options for food and shopping! After our brunch we walked all the way to Lower Manhattan – trust me it’s far! Our destination was TKTS – a shop where you can buy discounted last minute tickets to broadway musical and…

Sixty Hotel Lower East Side

02/10/2016

My girl Katie booked this amazing hotel to finish her NYC trip with a bang and I was invited to stay for my last two nights – lucky girl or what?! The room was equipped with two double beds, tv, massive shower, wardrobe and everything else you might need but the best part was probably the pool! Let’s have a little look. Didn’t I say it was amazing? The pool is probably the most instagram-friendly pool of all time, haha.…

La Esquina, feed me everyday!

01/10/2016

Prior to my NYC trip I asked all my friends for recommendations and Mr. Hat said La Esquina was a must, so I went ahead and booked a table a month in advance! You enter via a diner/shop like place and the bar and restaurant is in the basement. We were ushered downstairs and left to… we genuinely didn’t know what to do. One of the girls by the entrance said “they will find you” and we just thought “WHO…

An arty afternoon at the Met

30/09/2016

So sorry for the lack of posts lately! For some reason I thought my body and mind would be strong enough to handle NYC – work – Ibiza – work with no break whatsoever and well, my body and mind crashed. I, with a little help from google, diagnosed myself and I was simply exhausted. I was tired, dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous and had pains everywhere. Now take that and add pms on top of that – great combo! I’m now…

Top of the Rock!

24/09/2016

After a week in NYC I still didn’t feel THAT impressed by it, but as soon as I saw this view I felt “this is what everyone is talking about”, you know? During the morning I bought tickets to Top of the Rock online and they were about $31 per ticket. We arrived around 10am (it opens 8am) and there was a queue but to pass time they were showing a video of how the Rockefeller was made, interviews and what…

Steak and water at Juliette in Williamsburg

22/09/2016

After a very bad hangover on sunday and a chilled day monday I felt like I never wanted to drink again! We’d had burgers, asian and italian food so steak seemed like a good option. After a bit of googling we found Juliette which was walking distance from us. We sat on the cute roof terrace and ordered starter and main.. Looked at the bar once and thought no, water for me. So delicious! The staff wasn’t the nicest but I guess…
