Family

23/05/2017

Parts of his wonderful family.  I’m from a pretty “cold” country where physical affection is, in my opinion, limited.. even from family members. To then visit a family like his, where I was flooded with kisses and hugs as soon as we met, was wonderful but new. Every single time someone entered the house or left, they’d kiss and hug, and you could see that it wasn’t by force. It was the most natural thing in the world and it…

Random pictures from our last days in Mineiros

18/05/2017

Back to Brazil! During our last couple of days we didn’t do much except eat and spend time with family. Here’s a few random snaps! Food. Always food. Above is the best meat I’ve ever had. Yum. Pool vibes. Some kind of super sweet sweetcorn dessert, delicious but oh so sweet. Played around by the pool with G behind the camera Tried sugarcane juice for the first time. It tastes like.. sugar. A half day in Mineiros

15/05/2017

House and ground tour

Here’s a little tour of G’s grandparents house which I absolutely fell in love with. Wild parrots. Can’t believe how excited I was to see wild parrots! Many breakfasts served here 🙂 Avocado trees!!! More cute birds. This one lived inside the tree. Had to…

Comfortable in Solillas

12/05/2017

Before travelling to Brazil I tried to plan most of my outfits, from tops and shorts to shoes. I knew I wanted to be comfortable as we would walk a lot but also look good. I was very excited to receive a pair of Solillas sandals just before this holiday. Solillas is a husband and wife creation with inspiration from Ibiza and Menorca. The shoes are handmade in a workshop in Menorca by their friend Carlos and the quality truly…

8 hour bus ride to Mineiros and meeting the family

12/05/2017

I’m a big fan of flying, but anything on ground? Make it quick and easy, please. We got a ride to the bus station in Goiania, help buying the tickets (thank you Luis!), bought snacks and got on the bus. A massive bus! I was very happy to find large, comfortable seats with lots of leg space (not that I need it, but bf does!). We watched Moana (amazing animated film) and other tv shows during the long trip. We…
