On Saturday I walked to Aje Beauty, a treatment room (inside a gym, inside an apartment building) near my house. I was greeted by the lovely Aje and she had a little look at my short, half-asian lashes.
Aje’s treatment room.
So, what is LVL lash lift?
The treatment straightens your natural lashes at the root, creating the appearance of longer, lifted lashes. The added tint creates a mascara like effect.
Here are some before shots of my bare, naked eyes.
Aje started by taping down my lower lashes so they wouldn’t get in the way.
She then popped a small plastic shield on top of my eyes and started lifting my lashes onto it with a special glue.
After that she applied various solutions and serums and finally a tint.
She then used another solution to loosen my eyelashes from the shield.
I’m not going to lie, I didn’t really see a difference at first and was kind of disappointed but seeing the before and after made me feel better! My lashes are definitely lifted and once applied with mascara they look super long! I do wish they had more of a curl but a girl can’t have everything, haha.
As you can see above, the difference is pretty big with makeup on. I’d normally curl my lashes with an eyelash curler before AND after mascara (I know you shouldn’t, but my lashes are THAT bad imo), now I don’t have to do it! Yay!
I would definitely do the same treatment again but see if my lashes could be lifted even more. Hey, if you don’t ask..
The treatment cost £45 at Aje Beauty and she’s based in South Quay (Canary Wharf).
I’m usually one of those who throws away makeup if it’s broken but NOT TODAY! My dear Mary Lou Manizer by The Balm broke the other day, no idea how, and I was devastated. It’s my absolute fave highlighter ever (I’ve only owned two tbh) and I just couldn’t bare the thought of spending another £20 when there was so much left.
Here’s what I did to save it!
You’re going to need:
A toothpick, spoon, whatever
Start by breaking it even more (trust me on this)
A little bit more!
Until it looks like a powder..
Squeeze 4 drops of eyedrops on to the powder and place the face wipe on top. With clean (!) fingers, press down onto the powder until you have an even surface.
I promise I’ll keep you updated if this actually lasts or not.. but so far so good! I’ve swatched it on my arm (to the left of the pic) and it’s exactly the same as before.
Let me know if you decide to test this out and what the outcome is!
I like coming to Nadia’s hairsalon. It’s like visiting a friends home but with the added hair styling on top!
Her salon is just by Goodge Street and is as minimal and scandi as it gets, and I love it. I went to see her on friday to get a little trim and catch up.
This is the before and after:My hair feels thicker and healthier which is just what I wanted! I did tell her to chop off some more but she said no… very strange for a hairdresser 😉 But that only proves how good she is!
Thought I’d share some more pictures from previous visits as well! This is after she tried a new treatment on my hair called Smartbond (similar to Olaplex). Suuuuch a good treatment and I might get it again after my holiday.
This was my hair look for the black tie event back in February. Big big waves.
This is only about a year ago, but my hair is so much longer!
And lastly this is back in August last year 🙂
Nadia will have little inserts here and there to recommend products to my followers, which I thought would be fun!
First up is this hair oil:
Essense Absolue by Shu Uemura.
The oil is very moisturising and protects the hair with intense nutrition. It also provides the hair with heat protection without weighing down fine hair. You can use it daily or as a pre shampoo treatment or overnight.
Nadia recommends 1-2 pumps of oil for daily use and apply it from mid-ends and to the ends. For a treatment she says to use 4-5 pumps.
It is one of her personal favourites and she uses it all the time on my hair!
On Friday evening when I was hanging out with G and his colleagues, one of their friends came to join us. All of a sudden this lovely friend hands us all lipsticks?! I was slightly confused but very grateful! It’s not every day you get makeup for free 🙂
The lipstick I got is from Maybelline and is called Rich Ruby. It’s part of their Colour Sensational range and is a matte lipstick.
I rarely wear red on my lips due to the fact that I had to wear it as uniform when I worked for Emirates, and even though those days are long gone.. I’m still damaged, haha.
On Sunday I decided to try it out and G took a few shots of me on our terrace.Jumper from Manners Apparel
This is one layer of lipstick without lip pencil! The colour is VERY red on me and would probably come out different on someone else, but it is beautiful.
Here’s two other shots he took in Shoreditch. It was absolutely freezing this weekend so I bundled up!Coat from Canada Goose
Sneakers from Adidas
The lipstick lasted very well during our meal and I reapplied just after dinner, yay!
Do you wear lipstick on a daily basis? If so, what brands do you prefer? Puss!
