Indian takeaway, naked exhibition and dive bar in Brooklyn

15/09/2016

On thursday evening we decided to have a casual evening and order takeaway from Ariel’s local indian. We ate, drank wine and had the most wonderful conversations about female empowerment and friendships. God I love dinners like these.  After we walked to Wythe Avenue and checked out Body of Work by Camila Falquez who exhibited the most stunning photographies  Then the ladies took me to my first dive bar – in short a bar with cheap drinks that outweighs the…

Obligatory tourist day

15/09/2016

After our lovely lunch we walked to Time Square. I’m not big on touristy things but for this particular trip I had a long-ass checklist of things I wanted to see and do, haha! Luckily Katie was happy to wander around the city and check things off with me 🙂  Me and my adorable friend Katie!  After Time Square we walked over to Bryant Park and relaxed our feet. After about an hour we were ushered away due to a…

The Grey Dog

13/09/2016

The Grey Dog was one of Katie’s go-to places for lunch when she lived here, so we payed them a visit for lunch. The size of every single portion I’ve had in NYC are incredible and I can never finish what I’ve ordered. We both ate grilled sandwiches – Katie ate one with apple, turkey and brie cheese whereas I ordered a chicken and mozzarella sandwich with a salad. The board behind Katie has a really cute story behind it.…

Selah Vie jewelry

12/09/2016

For some reason the only thing I’ve looked at on this trip is jewelry. I’ve never really been into it, not too sure why, but the brands out here are really speaking to me and here’s one of them: Selah Vie Selah Vie is a minimal bohemian jewelry line based in New York and designed and handcrafted by Selah Michelle – who actually just returned to the shop with tacos as we were leaving, haha. For gold and silver filled jewelry…

Views from The High Line

12/09/2016

After our lovely breakfast we took the metro to Manhattan and Chelsea. We walked the The High Line, which is a long New York City linear park built in Manhattan on an elevated section of a disused New York Central Railroad. We entered near Chelsea Market and walked around enjoying the stunning architecture and beautiful views. Upon entering we stumbled across this.. ultra creepy  A fashion recruiter company was taking pictures of people and these mirrors asking us to write down what fashion is…

Devoción and Sprout

10/09/2016

Thursday morning me and Katie met Kevin for breakfast at Devoción. I’m not a coffee drinker but they’re meant to have super good coffee! I absolutely loved the interior with the massive plant wall and rustic walls. My breakfast was very tasty and fresh and it wasn’t that expensive either. After breakfast we popped next door to Sprout Home, a beautiful (slightly overpriced) plant shop and dreamed about our future homes.  Sprout Home   I love the combination of coffee shop and…

House of Small Wonder and Crackpie

10/09/2016

Katie arrived in the evening of Wednesday and we decided to pop some bubbly and head out to dinner to celebrate that we were all together! Ariel had booked a table at House of Small Wonders, a japanese restaurant in Williamsburg. We entered and was taken to our “booth” which had a little curtain for privacy and ordered lots of small dishes to share. A tired jet lagged crew! So happy to see them both again. We all really liked House…

Jet lag and wandering around Williamsburg

09/09/2016

Good morning from the other side of the pond! My flight from London was alright and I landed at 7pm (local time). I waited at the airport for Ariel to land from San Diego and after loads of hugs we took a cab back to her apartment in Williamsburg. I was extremely tired so went straight to bed. At 5.30 am I was wide awake and watched some netflix before Ariel woke up. We bought some breakfast and she went…

Smartbond by L’Oreal at Jönning & Riashi

08/09/2016

On Sunday last week I visited my fave hairdresser Nadia at her salon in Fitzrovia. I was fortunate enough to be one of her first clients trying out the new Smartbond treatment by L’Oreal! Smartbond is L’Oreals answer to Olaplex and is basically a treatment to protect and strengthen the hair – usually whilst using a technical service such as bleach or colour, but Nadia suggested I tried it even though I haven’t done either. Quick lesson: Keratin is the essential…
