First Hotel River C in Karlstad, Sweden

21/06/2016

On Sunday we checked in to First Hotel River C, a four star hotel a short walk from the city centre. We were first given a room on the 5th floor with a mini window (website says all rooms offer canal or river views.. nope!) but our wifi didn’t work. Since we’re wifi addicts I went down to reception to complain and were given a room on 6th floor with river views (yay!) instead and the wifi worked perfectly. The…

Garden and fresh air

21/06/2016

One thing I genuinely miss about Sweden is the clean and fresh air. London has such high pollution it kills 9000 people a year and let me break this down easily.. If you have a cold your snot will actually come out black. Disgusting. SO! When I come home I find myself thinking about the air and how I breathe. My parents house is surrounded by green and water so the air is super clean and fresh. It’s like a detox…

Dad’s birthday!

19/06/2016

In my previous post I wrote that I had to be in Sweden by friday evening/saturday morning, and the reason was my dad. He turned 75 on Thursday and my mother organised a big party on Saturday with lots of friends, family and neighbours. We arrived shortly after 2pm and helped with the food before everyone else arrived. My mom had cooked for days! Food coma times a million. I’m pretty sure I saw G have 4 plates of food,…

Stress and Gothenburg

18/06/2016

On friday our flight with Norwegian got cancelled 8 hours prior to departure. Normally I trust Norwegian and think they are pretty decent for a low cost airline but I never expected this to happen to me. I got the notification via text – not even an email explaining why – and it said the flight has been cancelled and I can either re-book or get a full refund. I had to be in Sweden that evening or latest next…

Date night at OXBO

14/06/2016

When I first booked the restaurant I was pretty sure it was the restaurant by the water called OXO tower or something similar.. Well, I was wrong, haha. OXBO is located inside a Hilton Hotel just behind Tate (London bridge area). The interior is seriously sexy and I found new details I loved throughout our dinner. The restaurant was divided into three different sections where the floor, ceiling and other details would vary. We ate from their sample menu (choices of three…

Oven baked kale crisps

13/06/2016

Healthy snacks, is there anything more boring? I think not. I’d happily sit with a spoon and a jar of nutella but my skin can’t tolerate all that fat and sugar (and obviously the rest of my body). There’s been a hype about kale crisps recently and I didn’t try it until my colleague brought some to work and forced me to try. It wasn’t all that bad you know! Earlier last week I went on pinterest and searched for…

Let’s talk about anxiety – Via Buzzfeed and Kristen Bell

11/06/2016

During a quiet hour at work I decided to check out Buzzfeed and came across this article. Literally everything she said (except the medicine taking part) spoke to me. She starts explaining that she’s very co-dependent and have always wanted people to like her. Seriooouuusly though. Since I was young I have always depended on others approval and affection and it would hurt if others didn’t like me. Genuinely hurt. It took me a long ass time to realise that it…

The Hangout at Skyloft, round 2.

08/06/2016

A couple of weeks ago I went to an event called Hangout and I had such a good time I just had to go again this Sunday. Me and the stunning brazilian spice Anaïs met up with Nicole and a bunch of other friends at Skyloft in the late afternoon and went straight to the candy floss bar (obviously). Magician Mitch was there to amaze us all with some of his tricks. Blows my mind every single time. Instead of clinging…

3 ingredient Oat Pancake

07/06/2016

This might be the easiest healthy pancake you’ll ever make. Mix three eggs together with 3-4dl oats (any kind will do) until it looks like a thick porridge. Add a looot of cinnamon because cinnamon is awesome. I decided to fry my pancake in coconut oil but use whatever you have at home. Enjoy with a massive amount of nutella and banana like me, or some healthy boring berries.. 🙂  Nom om om. Puss, N…
