26/06/2016

On Saturday me and Gabriel woke up super early and spent the morning outside before breakfast.DSC05208 copy DSC05213 copyDSC05219 copyDSC05231 copyThe sun came out and it must’ve been at least 30 degrees in the sun! Super lovely. No luck with flights

26/06/2016

On Sunday me and G went and bought breakfast whilst the happy couple was still asleep. We had one last meal together before going to the airport. DSC05354 copy
Me and G matching as always, haha!DSC05357 copyOnce in Copenhagen we were informed that our flight to London had been delayed by 2 hours.. greeeaaat.
This simply meant we were able to eat some proper food instead of rushing to the next flight (positive thoughts!)DSC05360 copy We decided to dine at Mash, a modern american steak restaurant.DSC05363 copy DSC05364 copy Massive portions with airport prices, hahaDSC05367 copy DSC05369 copyWe had a lovely meal whilst talking about our holiday..

Now we’re back in London and I am NOT happy to be back! The weather has continued to be terrible and grey and I miss everyone at home.

Time for a tea and chocolate.

The perfect Midsommar

24/06/2016

Us Swedes likes to celebrate anything and everything and we do it good. Back in the day Midsummer celebrations were held to welcome summertime and the season of fertility, maybe not so much the second one lately..
It is one of my favourite traditions we have as it involves flowers, food and drinks – and is held during the summer.

This year we had the amazing opportunity to visit my friends parents summer house in the archipelago, about 40 minutes south from Stockholm.
When we arrived we were welcomed with drinks (love the family already!) and hugs and later sat down for a lovely traditional midsummer lunch with meatballs, sausages, potatoes and other traditional swedish foods.DSC05139 copy DSC05140 copy DSC05142 copy DSC05148 copy DSC05149 copy DSC05151 copy DSC05152 copy DSC05153 copy After dinner the sun decided to say hi so we all sat on the terrace and talked for hoursDSC05154 copy DSC05158 copy and played with the adorable kidsDSC05162 copy DSC05166 copy my boys <3DSC05168 copy DSC05182 copy DSC05188 copy Emmie made the most amazing pulled pork burgers for our evening snackDSC05191 copy And Arild who is the founder and manager of Cheesecake Palace provided daim cheesecake, woop!!DSC05196 copy DSC05199 copyIn the late evening we went to the sauna and I had my first swim of the year! Absolutely horrifyingly cold but super refreshing after being in a hot sauna. Afterwards we all sat by the fire and chilled till it was bedtime. The picture above was taken around midnight.

Garlic & Shots

24/06/2016

Nearly every single time I’ve been to Stockholm during the last 5 years I’ve had dinner at Garlic & Shots. My friend Arild introduced me to the restaurant based on our love for good food and garlic, and it’s simply become a tradition that we dine there.
It’s not a fancy restaurant, the interior is super strange and they play hard core rock music – but the food is worth it. As the name says, every dish is cooked with lots of garlic in it, even the desserts.DSC05124 copy DSC05128 copy I always pick the ribs. Always. Just read these words: GARLIC HONEY ROASTED BABY BACK RIBS, come on??DSC05129 copy DSC05132 copy Their shot-list is LONG and includes shots with garlicDSC05133 copy Arild and G ate their massive burgers knowing they would have some of my ribsDSC05136 copy Two layers of ribs on top of potato skins and honey sauce, fingerlickin’ yuuuum.DSC05138 copyI very rarely finish a plate on my own.. As you can see the portions are massive!

Next time you’re in Stockholm and want to feel like you’ve bathed in garlic, go there.

First day in Stockholm

23/06/2016

Wednesday morning we had breakfast, packed our bags and walked to the local train station. The journey to Stockholm took about 2,5 hours with the fast train. Once there we took a cab to my friends apartment and ventured out. G has been to stockholm a few times already but we’ve never really walked around properly, so we decided to do some sightseeing.DSC05085 copy DSC05093 copy The Royal PalaceDSC05094 copy Grand HotelDSC05097 copy We walked to this tiny little island where we visited the Modern MuseumDSC05098 copy DSC05099 copy After our visit, which I highly recommend, we walked to the old townDSC05100 copy DSC05102 copy DSC05108 copy Found a super cute interior shop called DesignfirmanDSC05110 copy DSC05111 copy After walking through old town we ended up at Skanstull on Södermalm (south of Stockholm)DSC05114 copy Our next stop was Fotografiska where we saw some seriously amazing exhibitions, wish I could’ve taken photographs of everything. Exhibitors included Bryan Adams and Nick Brandt.DSC05119 copy DSC05121 copyAfter a couple of hours there we went to one of my favourite restaurants in Stockholm; Garlic & Shots!
