This is what I call summer

26/06/2016

On Saturday me and Gabriel woke up super early and spent the morning outside before breakfast. The sun came out and it must’ve been at least 30 degrees in the sun! Super lovely. We all changed into swimwear and listened to music and swam in the ICE cold water  No stupid snapchat filter flower crown.. this is the real deal!  Such an amazing view..  In the late afternoon we left the wonderful island and came back to Stockholm. Look at my…

No luck with flights

26/06/2016

On Sunday me and G went and bought breakfast whilst the happy couple was still asleep. We had one last meal together before going to the airport.  Me and G matching as always, haha!Once in Copenhagen we were informed that our flight to London had been delayed by 2 hours.. greeeaaat. This simply meant we were able to eat some proper food instead of rushing to the next flight (positive thoughts!) We decided to dine at Mash, a modern american steak…

The perfect Midsommar

24/06/2016

Us Swedes likes to celebrate anything and everything and we do it good. Back in the day Midsummer celebrations were held to welcome summertime and the season of fertility, maybe not so much the second one lately.. It is one of my favourite traditions we have as it involves flowers, food and drinks – and is held during the summer. This year we had the amazing opportunity to visit my friends parents summer house in the archipelago, about 40 minutes south…

Garlic & Shots

24/06/2016

Nearly every single time I’ve been to Stockholm during the last 5 years I’ve had dinner at Garlic & Shots. My friend Arild introduced me to the restaurant based on our love for good food and garlic, and it’s simply become a tradition that we dine there. It’s not a fancy restaurant, the interior is super strange and they play hard core rock music – but the food is worth it. As the name says, every dish is cooked with…

First day in Stockholm

23/06/2016

Wednesday morning we had breakfast, packed our bags and walked to the local train station. The journey to Stockholm took about 2,5 hours with the fast train. Once there we took a cab to my friends apartment and ventured out. G has been to stockholm a few times already but we’ve never really walked around properly, so we decided to do some sightseeing.  The Royal Palace Grand Hotel We walked to this tiny little island where we visited the Modern Museum  After…

Nostalgic lunch and mum’s wonderful food

23/06/2016

On our last day in Karlstad we started with breakfast as usual. The plate below was my first one.. I had waffles with Nutella after, nom nom. After breakfast we hung out in the room and went for a walk. For lunch we went to Wayne’s coffee shop – a cafe I went to pleeeenty of times when I was young, and I always ate this particular pasta salad. Can’t believe they still have it there!!   After lunch we bought…

Br. Olssons Elektriska

22/06/2016

Before travelling I googled new restaurants in Karlstad (my hometown). The one that kept popping up with amazing reviews was Br. Olssons Elektriska, a new restaurant in the city centre. Back in 1933 there was an actual electrical company by two brothers with the same name in the very same spot and the “current” brothers, originally from a small town near Karlstad, decided to go for a retro design throughout the restaurant and bar and add Elektriska to their name.…

Sunshine and museum visit

22/06/2016

On Monday we woke up bright and early and the sun was finally shining! As some of you know I absolutely love breakfast and especially hotel breakfasts. I would genuinely pay to eat breakfast at a hotel any day of the week.. if I could afford it, haha. It’s something about having lots of choices.. yum.  After breakfast we watched an episode or two of House of Cards (if you haven’t seen it, please do!) and I got ready to…

Catch up at Pinchos and apartment goals

22/06/2016

I’ve always said; once you move country you truly realise who your real friends are. I’ve moved countries 4 times by now and my circle is getting smaller and smaller which I genuinely don’t mind as I only want real and good hearted people around me. I don’t have that many friends left in my hometown as many now live in bigger cities or abroad but on Sunday evening we met up with a few who are 🙂 Anja, her…
