Flat Iron / Covent Garden

14/04/2016

On friday Nigel mentioned that Flat Iron was opening a new restaurant in Shoreditch and I immediately answered “I STILL HAVEN’T BEEN” and he said “tomorrow?” Haha! Said and done, Saturday evening me, my bestie Eva and Nigel met in Soho and walked down to Covent Garden, only to be turned away at the door. 1,5 hour wait. “Is it worth it?” I asked them both. “Yes!”, they said. So we decided to walk down towards strand and found a…

This week’s mani / Freestyle by Barry M

14/04/2016

I am a bit of a shopaholic and instead of buying expensive clothes and shoes I am now buying nail polishes… As I wrote in my previous nail post, I’m quite obsessed with my nails. Better that than expensive designer bags? I think so. Spring is upon us so I decided to order a few new bright colours (read: some pinks and nudes). This is a lovely dusty pink that gives just the right amount of colour without being too…

Pizza and horror

13/04/2016

So.. I absolutely hate horror movies. Don’t think I’ve seen one since the first Saw movie came out. I hate feeling scared and uncomfortable so in turn I quite enjoy my predictable rom-coms. Who’s with me? Anyway. Aaron had the most brilliant idea of watching It Follows, a film about Jay who after a seemingly innocent sexual encounter finds herself plagued by strange visions and the inescapable sense that someone, something, is following her. I refused to watch the movie…

ZUU / Virgin Active

11/04/2016

I’ve been a member at Virgin Active for a few years but started going frequently when they opened up a brand new gym nearer my office (not that it wasn’t close before…) in august 2015. Virgin Active Walbrook is part of their Collection range which basically is fancier than the rest. I might do a more in depth post about the gym in the future if you’d like to read more about it! I’ve never been one to like cardio/strength…

Hoxton Hotel / Shoreditch, London

11/04/2016

So.. To treat my boyfriend (and myself included, hehe) I booked one night at Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch, east London. I booked via their own website and check in on the day was super simple. The interior in the reception area/lounge is super cool and it is basically made for hipsters and entrepreneurs, all working away on their macs. Our room was small but absolutely enough. It was clean, decor was spot on and the bed super comfy! On the…

One of those weeks

10/04/2016

Oh my days, I haven’t blogged in a week. I spent the entire last weekend making sure my bf had a good birthday and I think I succeeded! But after the weekend I had the busiest of times at work, training new staff, planning events and going to the gym. The blog simply had to take a break. Well, let me update y’all now! Last weekend we stayed at Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch, ate at Merchants Tavern, watched a handful…

My first ever football game!

02/04/2016

Last night I had the pleasure of attending my first ever football game WHILST being served a wonderful three course dinner with wine. G texted me during the day asking if I wanted to come to a game in west london and I immediately asked “will there be food? is it outside? It’s pretty cold outside you know” and he reassured me that I would be fed and warm. How could I possibly say no to that?  If all football…

Dinner party in Brixton

01/04/2016

I absolutely love hosting dinner parties but there is something equally as exciting when you are a guest. I had the pleasure of being one of the guests at Pharao and Nigel’s dinner the other day. We spent hours talking, drinking, eating and listening to the best of music. Pharao made the most amazing (but very spicy!) lamb burgers Nigel cooked a beautiful salmon with lemon and rosemary I’ve got the most beautiful friends in the world  Brioche bread to make…

Kladdkaka

01/04/2016

I don’t think any of my english friends have escaped the famous swedish kladdkaka (direct translation gooey cake). It’s basically a chocolate cake filled with some of the best ingredients in the world; butter, chocolate and sugar.. Yum! I’ve known this recipe by heart for many many years but have altered it slightly for today. Prep: 10 min Cook: 20 min Servings: I mean, it depends.. I’d say about 8-10. Sometimes 2. Ingredients: 2 large eggs 1,5 dl white sugar…
